Curé Jobs Ministry PDF Print

We are pleased to introduce the Curé Jobs Ministry (CJM); a program designed to offer assistance to those Curé parishioners that seek employment. The CJM will provide tangible job search training and coaching as well as friendship and Catholic fellowship from Curé parishioners who sincerely care about your situation.

If you are unemployed and would like the assistance of the CJM here’s what you need to know:

  • A personal Job Minister will be assigned to you and will provide counsel in the areas of resume’ preparation and interviewing skills as well as bringing awareness to the multitude of other resources available to increase your chances of landing employment.
  • The level of confidentiality will be dictated by the employment candidate. Strict confidentiality will be available for those who request it.
  • The structure of the program is this……an employment candidate will be coached and be exposed to a variety of beneficial resources, however, the candidate will provide the “horsepower” behind the effort.
  • If you are less interested in working for someone else and more interested in working for yourself, the CJM is prepared to help you get started.
  • There is no cost to the employment candidate.

If you are not looking for a job, here’s what you should know:

  • The ability of the CJM to help those in need will be greatly enhanced if we can tap into the enormous networking reach of the entire Curé community. It is the goal of the CJM to build a database of information that tells us who works where and in what capacity. A Placement Minister will offer up this data and would agree to receive an occasional phone call or e-mail requesting information on their company or industry. Those Placement Ministers who are in a position to hire or influence hiring will have access to the list of Curé employment candidates (by skill set or job title, not names). If you are employed, we ask that you become a Placement Minister for the CJM.
  • A Job Minister will coach, counsel and befriend an employment candidate (one-on-one). Job Ministers will be trained to understand the nuances of looking for employment in this day and age (many of you have not likely had to look for a job recently….we get that). A Job Minister will help keep the employment candidate on task and will work with the candidate to make him/her as attractive as possible to the marketplace.

The CJM will rely on the time (minimal for each of us) and talent (plentiful in the Curé parish) of the Curé community. Few circumstances can be as taxing and stressful on an individual and his/her family than being unemployed. Imagine the impact you might have with a single phone call or e-mail, or by offering your time to help coach a brother or sister in need. Isn’t this what we are all called to do?
